The first private college in Al-Ahsa.

Al-Mousa College of Health Sciences

The Design Team collaborated with AlMoosa Group on a distinctive academic project: AlMoosa College of Health Sciences, located in Al-Ahsa, Saudi Arabia. The college is the first not-for-profit private institution of its kind in the Eastern Region and officially welcomed its first cohort of students in September 2020.

Reception and Office Interior Design Concept

The project focused on creating a reception and public interface that functions as a dynamic central hub, seamlessly combining clarity, movement, and functionality. Designed as the primary point of arrival, the space establishes a strong first impression while supporting smooth circulation across key areas of the college.

The reception area features a central reception desk anchoring the main entry, complemented by soft, flexible seating arrangements that create a welcoming waiting environment. This layout acts as a gateway to various departments and shared spaces within the facility.

Connectivity plays a central role in the design, linking curated gallery displays, the main auditorium hall, and surrounding functions. A compact café kiosk was thoughtfully integrated to enhance convenience and usability, transforming the reception area into an active, multi-purpose focal point that supports academic, social, and community-driven activities.

The Design Team developed the individual study booths within the library to support focus, comfort, and academic performance. Each booth is designed as a semi-secluded environment that minimizes distraction while maintaining visual harmony with the surrounding library space, enabling users to concentrate within an active learning setting.

Careful attention was given to ergonomics, spatial proportions, and furniture layout to accommodate a range of study behaviors and preferences. The booths support quiet reading, focused individual work, and small-scale collaboration, providing students and researchers with adaptable, comfortable spaces that enhance productivity.

Through a balanced integration of functionality and refined aesthetics, the individual booths contribute to a cohesive learning environment that elevates the overall library experience and supports diverse modes of study.

To address the acoustic challenges created by the double-height ceiling and expansive glass façade in the main lobby, the Design Team implemented a carefully engineered acoustic solution. Heradesign ceiling rafts were strategically integrated alongside circular pendant lighting, reducing sound reflection from hard surfaces and controlling reverberation within the vertical void—without compromising the architectural openness of the space.

The project’s wayfinding system was thoughtfully developed to integrate seamlessly with the college’s interior design language. Each corridor across the different floors was assigned a distinct color palette, carefully selected to correspond with the functional identity of each zone. This approach enhances spatial clarity, intuitive navigation, and user experience while reinforcing the overall visual coherence of the campus.

The collaboration between the Design Team and AlMoosa College of Health Sciences has been defined by a comprehensive and detail-driven interior design service delivered to the AlMoosa Group. From concept development through material selection, each decision was carefully curated to support both functional performance and architectural intent.

Design ideas were meticulously translated into coordinated working drawings, ensuring clarity and precision throughout the construction process. This structured approach has enabled the design vision to be accurately realized on site, where materiality, detailing, and spatial quality are clearly reflected in the ongoing works.
